The Stand NYC Announces Partnership With Chelsea Music Hall

One of New York City’s Top Comedy Clubs will be programming comedy at the iconic music venue on Manhattan’s west side.

Jul 11, 2023 NEW YORK, NY – The Stand Comedy Club and Restaurant, one of New York City's top comedy clubs, has announced an exciting programming partnership with Chelsea Music Hall. This collaboration brings The Stand's brand of humor and exceptional comedic experience to Manhattan's west side. With its recent expansion in Union Square and a decade of successful operations, The Stand continues to grow and aims to bring comedy to a wider audience through this exciting partnership.

“We’ve been talking about this for quite some time. I think the pandemic slowed things down as both venues had to figure out their futures,” said Paul Italia, co-owner of The Stand. “We celebrated 10 years in business, and within that time, we had enjoyed doing pop-up shows all around New York City while we relocated. We had a lot of fun doing it, and this is just the next phase as we continue to promote events throughout New York City.”

Chelsea Music Hall, a concert and event venue on Manhattan's west side, opened its doors in 2018. Known for its diverse programming, including live bands, DJ shows, hip-hop, theater, musical performances, and improv, Chelsea Music Hall is thrilled to expand its coverage to include comedy. With its versatile 3,500 square-foot space, the venue aims to demonstrate its dedication to the art form.“

Teaming up with The Stand Comedy Club is a step we wanted to take to show our audience and new audience that we take the art form seriously,” said Chelsea Music Hall co-owner Chip Quigley.

“We wanted to expand our programming and what better way to do that than collaborating with the best comedy club in New York City,” added Chelsea Music Hall’s co-owner Michael Ginsberg.

The Stand helped produce an HBO comedy special at the Chelsea Music Hall for Jesus Sepulveda in 2019.
