Zarna Garg is a NYC-based Indian auntie – AKA, a brown middle-aged woman with many opinions and few prospects… or so they think. She is a successful businesswoman, lawyer, trained docent, cry-over-the shoulder friend, tell-all loudmouth, supportive life-partner and hysterical, overbearing mom to her three kids. This enriching journey has brought Zarna to the most logical destination for any Indian auntie – becoming a stand-up comedian and a screenwriter.
Zarna won Best Comedy Feature Screenplay at the Austin Film Festival in 2019 (out of 11,000 entries) for her romantic comedy script, Rearranged, based on her own life story. The screenplay is also a Semi-Finalist (top 149 out of 7,300) in the 2019 Academy Nicholl Fellowships competition, and it has led her to land a development deal with Rooster Teeth Digital.
