Salma Hindy is a first generation Egyptian-Canadian Comedian. She is a graduate of Stand Up Comedy from Second City Toronto. With her fast rise to comedy, Salma has opened for Maz Jobrani, Ken Jeong, Beth Stelling, James Adomian, performed at JFL NorthWest, the SF Sketchfest, the Women in Comedy Festival in Boston, the Chicago Women Funny Fest and the Arab-American New York Comedy Festival. Salma has been featured on the CBC, Globe and Mail, CityNews, Refinery29 and more. She has a taping for CBC Gem's "New Wave of StandUp". She gave a Tedx talk about her emotional journey in comedy titled "Why People Pleasing is Hurting You." Salma is the star of her own name-sake documentary "Salma" as she explores different facets of her identity as a stand-up comic and a biomedical engineer - two very niche and male-dominated industries. This documentary was featured at Toronto Shorts Film Festival, Big Apple Film Festival, Austin Revolution Film Festival, Burbank International Film Festival, and Women's International Film Festival.
Her comedy flavours range from politics to her experiences as the child of immigrant parents. The only terrorism Salma partakes in is shooting down stereotypes on stage.
