he recently completed the CAMP developmental comedy residency at Ars Nova Theatre; her culminating solo show How Does That Make You Feel? premiering July 1, 2021. Ely is also currently a writer on LaughLINE, a new podcast/television show hybrid, premiering Summer 2021 on Amazon Prime and all of the places podcasts like to live. Ely’s ½ hour comedy pilot Magical Thinking was recently named a Quarterfinalist in the 2021 Screencraft Comedy Competition. In 2020, Ely’s controversial sketch Women for Biden won Funny or Die’s Best of the Web competition and was featured on their website. Ely was also a 2010 RADAR Lab Fellow through RADAR Productions, a literary and arts organization dedicated to supporting emerging queer artists. Ely has trained in improv, sketch, and acting at UCB, Brooklyn Comedy Collective, The Second City Chicago, HB Studio, and Serious Comedy Theater. She performs stand-up comedy around the town and during the pandemic, via your computer screen, on shows with The Tiny Cupboard, Sunday Services with Jackie Kashian, Cabin Fever Comedy, Glass Houses, and Seltzer: a Sober Comedy Hour. Ely also regularly posts original sketch/character videos on twitter and Instagram @elykreimendahl. Ely studied Film & Television at Boston University, and Drama Therapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies. In Ely’s other life, she is a Mom and a drama/creative arts psychotherapist, but she won’t feed you animal crackers or psychoanalyze you unless you’re into that sort of thing.
