Caroline Hanes is a sketch and stand-up comedian, satirical writer, and comedy show producer based in NYC.
At the University of Virginia, Caroline was a writer, actor, vice president and show director for a sketch comedy group called Hot Kids Comedy for three years.
After graduating in 2020, Caroline moved to New York City and began performing sketch and stand-up comedy in the city. She has since performed stand-up at the New York Comedy Club, Comic Strip Live, The Stand, Broadway Comedy Club, and Greenwich Village Comedy Club, and opened for Joe Matarese in Fairfield, CT and Bridgeport, CT. She has written and performed in sketch shows at the Peoples Improv Theater including the Old School Sketch Show and Unfinished Business. Additionally, she has written and performed in some digital sketches with fellow NYC comedians.
Caroline also co-produces a weekly comedy stand-up comedy showcase called Cult Comedy at St. Marks Comedy Club in the East Village. She books comedians, manages show promotion and venue management, and hosts Cult Comedy shows, which consistently draw crowds of 30+.
Caroline is a contributor for the satirical online publication Reductress, and has written several headlines and full articles for them since starting as a contributor in January 2022.
Caroline recently attended the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to perform in a comedic play. She also performed in stand-up comedy showcases, and was featured in over 50 Fringe shows throughout the month-long festival.
